L2 Vocabulary Teaching and Learning

In this workshop we will explore essential aspects of the nature of vocabulary, present important findings from vocabulary studies that help us understand how words are organized and learned, offer informed pedagogical suggestions for teaching vocabulary, and share usable activities and strategies to help students accelerate in learning words. Some of the questions we will address include: What does it mean to know a word? Which words should I teach my students? What are some of the best ways to teach words?
